John McLaren's Family Notes
Album 6 News More

Welcome to our Web site

My wife Kay does wonders with machine embroidery/knitting. She created the above placemat for our grandson Alexander Levi, now 3. See more of her work by clicking here.

See pix of our new granddaughter, Harriet Levi, and some friends taken by some really good photographers.

Alexander helping adorn one of his first Christmas trees can be found here. Check out the photos of our new house before and after it was touched by snow.

Also available for your viewing pleasure are six photo albums. The link bar above takes you to the latest one.

What a strange visage! Shows what can be done with a little imagination and one of those nifty digital kidcams. Click here for more of this art compiled mostly by grandson Alexander, then age 2 years, 8 months, at the first birthday celebration for his sister Harriet.

Five days without a Sheltie

Our dear Sheltie, Reina (left photo), died the night of July 16, 2007, as the result of a tumorous growth in her chest. She was 11, but as the above photo shows, she was still a "beautiful girl" until shortly before she passed away. She was well loved and, as one of our daughters noted, "Reina, in her sweet, joyful way, encouraged others to have and to love pets."

Reina had only been gone for five days before we brought home a new Sheltie, Indie (right photo). The new addition to our family, who has similar coloration to Reina, was still a pup -- 5 1/2 months old -- when we found her. Reina can never really be replaced, of course, but little Indie has helped alleviate the pain of her departure.

Our first Sheltie, Bonnie, was 15 when she died of old age a couple of years ago. To say both she and Reina are missed is an understatement.

While you're here, check out Kay's  Christmas village, which she created in our living rooms in Chula Vista and Portland.

The Europe page features highlights of John's trip to Italy, Austria, Britain and Germany.
